Honoring and Remembering Ray Tomasso

We are very saddened to report that papermaking artist and long-time member Ray Tomasso died on June 26 in Englewood, CO. Ray was co-founder and early officer of the International Association of Hand Papermakers and Paper Artists. Many of you will remember Ray from our annual conferences where he brought his seemingly boundless energy and deep knowledge and skill, which he generously shared with other members. His work drew on traditional papermaking techniques to create extraordinary monumental painted/sculptural artwork. A beautifully written obituary by Michael Paglia appears in the June 29, 2020 issue of Westworld and Ray's website provides a glimpse of his recent work. Ray will be deeply missed.
